David Hernandez
David C. Hernandez is currently completing his Ocularistry training under Henry La Fuente, BCO and MT, who specializes in both ocularistry and maxullar facial prosthetics. Over the past ten years David has been designing and developing class-I and class-II medical devices with companies such as Kimberly Clark, Facet Technologies and Porex Surgical Inc. While working with Porex Surgical Inc., from 1999-2004, David attended bi-annual Ocularistry continuing education classes in various locations, and stayed abreast of techniques and of new materials.
Over the course of his experience, David has designed and developed numerous products ranging from cranial, facial and orbital implants, as well as consumer products. He has consulted and collaborated with high profile, Ocular Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons from around the world to ensure that design needs and specifications were met with enthusiasm. Additional experience consists of a diverse medical field background including work as a Certified Phlebotomist, Certified Emergency Medical Transport (EMT), Medical Assistant and Emergency Room Technician (ERT).
David graduated from The Savannah Collage of Art and Design, with a BFA, specializing in Product Design and Development, and demonstrates the unique ability of combining his artistic talent and medical background.
